The Built Environment Technology (BET) Expo 2026 marked a milestone for the Philippine HVAC&R and building industry as the country's first dedicated exhibition showcasing technologies and solutions transforming the built environment.
Organized by the ASHRAE Philippines Chapter, the inaugural BET Expo was held on August 14, 2026, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Newport World Resorts, Manila, alongside the ASHRAE Region XIII Chapters Regional Conference 2026.
Envisioned as an annual flagship event, BET Expo created a new platform connecting manufacturers, suppliers, technology providers, consultants, contractors, developers, facility managers, government agencies, academic institutions, and building professionals.
Guided by the CRC 2026 theme, “Resilient by Design: Technology-Driven Buildings for a Changing Climate,” and complementing the ASHRAE Society Theme 2026–2027, “Changing the Game: Retrofitting for Resilience,” the expo highlighted the role of innovation and technology in creating smarter, healthier, more efficient, and resilient buildings.
The exhibition floor featured a diverse range of solutions spanning HVAC&R, smart buildings, building automation and controls, energy management, indoor environmental quality, refrigeration, fire and life safety, sustainable construction, digital engineering, and next-generation building systems.
Participating exhibitors included Concepcion Carrier Airconditioning Company, Desiccant Rotors International (Bry-Air), Ebara Pumps Philippines Inc., Daikin Airconditioning Philippines Inc., Supreme Steel Pipe Corporation, Photonergy Inc., Halton Inc., Igros Marketing Inc., Systemair HVAC Sdn Bhd., Camfil Malaysia Sdn Bhd., Mesan Cooling Tower Ltd., Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation, Hisense HVAC Philippines, Philippine Insulation Company Inc., Intech Group Innovations Corp., and Yek Yeu Merchandising Inc.
Through product exhibits and technology demonstrations, attendees were able to engage directly with companies and explore solutions applicable to the changing needs of the Philippine building industry.
Beyond the exhibition floor, BET Expo featured a comprehensive technical program organized into three major tracks: IAQ, Efficiency & Decarbonization; AI in HVAC and Data Center; and Refrigeration, Innovation & Retrofitting for Resilience.
The first track examined strategies for improving indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency, and decarbonization. Topics included Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems, industrial HVAC design and energy conservation, smart airflow control, sustainable infrastructure, urban microclimates, green and zero-carbon building certification, water-energy systems, smart building management, filter performance, and AHU retrofit and replacement.
The sessions brought together perspectives from industry and academia, emphasizing the importance of integrated approaches to improving building performance while addressing energy consumption, carbon reduction, and occupant well-being.
The AI in HVAC and Data Center track focused on emerging technologies and the rapidly increasing thermal demands associated with artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
Sessions covered digital twins and artificial intelligence for real-time HVAC monitoring and control, energy management, oil-free chillers, AMCA certification, data center thermal infrastructure, AI-ready data centers, and the future of HVAC for AI-driven facilities.
The discussions highlighted the growing role of advanced cooling, monitoring, and control strategies as data centers adapt to increasingly demanding AI workloads.
The final track addressed topics ranging from refrigerated facility design and industrial refrigeration to retrofit planning, solar applications for cold storage, low-GWP refrigerants, compressor reliability, ACMV installation regulations, commercial kitchen ventilation, sustainability, and indoor air quality for occupational safety and health.
The sessions provided practical perspectives on improving system efficiency, reliability, and resilience while supporting the industry's transition toward more sustainable technologies and practices.
BET Expo also extended beyond technology and technical learning by creating opportunities for professional development.
A Job Fair was held during the expo, connecting job seekers and building professionals with participating exhibitors that had available employment opportunities. Attendees were encouraged to submit their resumes, which were collected for distribution to exhibitors with job openings.
The ASHRAE Philippines Membership Promotion Booth was also available throughout the event, allowing attendees to learn more about ASHRAE, connect with Chapter representatives, and complete their membership on the spot.
These initiatives strengthened BET Expo's role not only as an industry exhibition, but also as a platform for career development, professional networking, and engagement with the wider ASHRAE community.
As the first edition of what is envisioned to become an annual event, BET Expo 2026 established a new platform for innovation, knowledge-sharing, industry collaboration, and professional engagement in the Philippines.
By bringing together technology providers and the professionals responsible for designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining buildings, the expo created opportunities to connect emerging solutions with real-world industry needs.
From HVAC&R and energy management to artificial intelligence, data centers, refrigeration, indoor environmental quality, and resilient retrofitting, BET Expo demonstrated the breadth of innovation shaping the built environment.
The inaugural event laid the foundation for future BET Expos and reinforced the importance of collaboration in creating smarter, healthier, more efficient, and resilient buildings for the future.
